10th September marked the second day of the freshmen batch in SEECS. Awkward looking first year students lurked around in the lobby and corridors of SEECS – some looking for their classrooms, others simply not knowing what to do in the “Library Period”.
To break the ice, the IEEE SEECS Student Branch played its role by taking over the SEECS lobby with its own little competitions that all students could play. With games such as Balloon Popping and Ping Pong Ball Racing, the freshmen seemed to have a good time with us. For the Balloon Popping, students had to blow the balloons until they burst. The excitement with the balloons and the constant “bang bang” of bursting balloons attracted a lot of people to our games. The favorite of the day was FIFA that was shown on the big screen in the lobby so that everyone could follow the match. The girls from the new batch were more interested in Ludo and Snakes and Ladders. All in all the students had a good time at the event.
